Dejen Tesfagiorgis, President

     Dejen Tesfagiorgis is an entrepreneur and musician living in Minneapolis, MN. He graduated in 2008 from the University of St. Thomas in Music and Entrepreneurship. Having been through the arts school application process, and being an accomplished musician as well, he has insights on the necessity of integrating the academic arts with technology.

     As a saxophonist he has studied with Ryan Meisel, Roscoe Mitchell, David Murray and Reuben Haugen.

Terry Fraser, CTO, Development Lead

   Terry Fraser has been building websites since age 12. His passion for technology has lead to degrees in Computer Science, Engineering, and Liberal Arts.

   As ArtsApp's lead developer, Fraser brings experience from the medical, ecommerce, and insurance industries, with specializations including MVC, ASP.NET 3.5, Domain Driven Design, Test Driven Design, PHP, and C#.

   Terry prides the nights where REM sleep doesn't exist.




Matthew Krieger Photo

Matthew Krieger, Technical Adviser

     Matt Krieger is a systems and network engineer with extensive experience in high volume web hosting, streaming media, and data center systems. Matt has used this experience to spearhead numerous cost-saving initiatives at a local ISP.
  
     In 2005, he developed the first-ever online gallery of student work at the University of Minnesota School of Journalism and Mass Communication while studying Electrical Engineering and laid the groundwork for future development in the department.

     A Minnesota transplant living in Boston, Erik Johnson serves as the Artistic Associate for Boston Lyric Opera, New England’s largest opera company. Erik’s work with the Minnesota Orchestra, Americans for the Arts, and graduate studies in Arts Management at Boston University are informed and inspired by his dedication to the arts and love of the classical music tradition.

     Aneesha Dharwadker is a recent graduate of Cornell University, where she studied architecture. Originally from Chicago, she grew up in Oklahoma and now lives in Madison, WI.

     She has played the violin for fourteen years, and enjoys a wide range of music, arts, and literatures. She enjoys studying architectural design as well as criticism and theory, and hopes to build a career as both a designer and writer.
 
 

  
Douglas Orzolek Photo

Dr. Douglas Orzolek, Advisor

     Douglas C. Orzolek is an Associate Professor of Music Education and the Associate Director of Bands at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. In Minnesota, Dr. Orzolek has served as the President on the Board of the Minnesota Music Educators Association and has served on the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Band Directors Association.

     His thoughts and work have been published in the Journal of Band Research, the Music Educators Journal, Teaching Music, General Music Today, School Band and Orchestra Magazine and Research and Issues in Music Education. Dr. Orzolek's research interests and presentations include: comprehensive musicianship; technology in teacher preparation; secondary general music; constructivism in music education; advocacy; accountability; and assessment.
 

Michael Moore, Advisor

Michael Moore is the Director of the William C. Norris Institute at the University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business. The Norris Institute provides start-up equity and assistance to Minnesota entrepreneurs who submit innovative, well-planned business strategies that address the Institute’s mission. The Norris Institute joined the ArtsApp team in 2009.
