What is the purpose of ArtsApp? |
Our purpose is to connect arts education and technology. As an admissions tool, ArtsApp replaces the physical shipping, archiving, and forwarding associated with artists sending work samples to arts organizations. We work with organizations needing audio, video, images and/or documents from artists. |
What are the User Roles in ArtsApp? |
1. Org Manager - The central figure in handling media for an organization. The Org Manager sets review dates, adds Reviewers, and tells Artists what materials to prepare.
2. Reviewer - Appointed by Org Managers to review Artist portfolios.
3. Artist - Artists upload work samples and submit portfolios to organizations.
|
What is the entire Application and Review Process? |
1. We work with you to create a portal, setup your Org, and and customize your look.
2. Link your ArtsApp portal to your main website
3. Artists come to our site, upload and submit materials to your organization.
4. Artists are assigned to Reviewers by the Org Manager.
5. Reviewers login and adjudicate, and finalize their reviews upon completion.
6. Org Managers see results and organize applicants into Invited and Not Invited categories.
7. Artists are notified of acceptance status outside of ArtsApp.
|
Is there a minimum amount of time to subscribe? |
There is no minimum, only pay for what you're going to use. If your submission and review cycle is January - April, only pay for four months of use.
|
Will Artists resist the online submission fee? |
Our experience is that the 10-credit submission fee is a reasonable amount for artists to pay to submit materials online instead of spending money on physical shipping, handling and tracking.
Any portion of this fee can also be absorbed by your organization. Each credit costs $ .80 – $ 1.00, depending on the number purchased at once. See our Costs page for more information. |
How will Artists know what to upload, and their deadlines? |
When an artist chooses a Discipline, she is shown instructions for that discipline. Any instructions were input by the Org Manager when setting up the organization are displayed to Artists when submitting portfolios. |
How will Reviewers know what to do? |
When a Reviewer is appointed, he is sent an email containing the portal URL, login information, and a notification of appointment. Upon login, he simply chooses which discipline to review, then is shown his list of artists to review. |
What are Divisions and Disciplines? |
A Division is a group of Disciplines. Each organization may have different Divisions to better organize the specific programs (Disciplines) for which an artist applies. Example Divisions include Undergraduate, Advanced String Quartet, and Pre-College.
A Discipline is the most specific program for which an artist applies. Example disciplines include Architecture, Double Bass, and Modern Dance.
When put together, Divisions and Disciplines give Artists and Org Managers a better view of available programs at an organization. (Undergraduate - Architecture, Advanced String Quartet - Double Bass, Pre-College - Modern Dance).

Can I add my own fees through ArtsApp? |
Yes, just let us know when we show you your trial account. |
Can I change the Appearance of my portal? |
Each portal can have a logo in the top left corner, and change the color of the boarder. Just provide us with your logo and tell us your desired background color and we'll do the rest. |
What is a good timeline before using ArtsApp? Can I try it out? |
We recommend allowing ample time for you to play around in a test portal, so a timeline can be as little as a week. We can set you up with a free test account in as few as two days. Just email us at Admin@ArtsApp, and we’ll personally introduce you to your online portal. |
